Everyone loves a good barbecue. Unfortunately, not everyone is comfortable with the smoke of a classic charcoal grill. The taste of the meat prepared on a charcoal grill is surely better, but sometimes it is not worth the effort to prepare the coals and controlling the temperature is really difficult. Electric grills are a good option but they need a lot of power, and in some cases, a power outlet might not be available. They are much better as an option for indoors rather than outdoors. For outdoors the better option is to get a gas grill.
The gas grill has the great benefit of being portable, perfect for outdoor use and offer a much better temperature control than the classic charcoal grills. Cooking on one is fairly easy, and compared to regular electric grills the cooking surface tends to be larger. There are some tradeoffs but what is clear is that gas grills are much more popular than other types of grills, especially for outdoors. Last but not least gas grills heat up very fast, but they are a bit more complex than a typical charcoal grill. They have a gas source, hoses, burners, a starter, and valve regulators.

The cooking grate is made out of stainless steel which means that it is reliable and quite resilient when it comes to wearing and tear. Last but not least the legs are foldable which makes it even easier to transport.
One of the things that do not add up when it comes to the CGG-306 gas grill is the price tag in conjunction with the build quality. For the money, the build quality should have been better. The grill works well, but maybe it should have been a bit more affordable.

3. OUR FAVORITE PICK: Char-Broil Classic 280 2-Burner Gas Grill
Char-Broil Classic 280 gas grill managed to get the award of being our favorite pick. Its combination of moderate pricing with good build quality as well as a decent cooking surface makes it an excellent choice. Even if it has just two burners, it is capable of an output of 26,500 BTUs. It has porcelain-coated grates and two folding side surfaces for food preparations. It is a rather mobile unit as it is not that heavy and it is very easy to move around. The top lid has a temperature gauge as expected and despite having plastic shelves, they are sturdy enough.
In terms of cons, the model seems to have the same issues are most other grills. Assembly is a bit of a challenge. The model comes in a small package and will need to be assembled. The problem comes from the fact that it has a lot of parts and putting it together will take an hour or so, but the good news is that this is a one-time activity.
2. Char-Broil Quickset 3-Burner Gas Grill
The Char-Broil Quickset 3-burner gas grill is one of the best-selling models in our list. It is similar to some of their other budget models, but it is a bit larger. The grill has a black coating and 3 burners. Its total cooking power reaches 36,000 BTU which is a lot for such a small grill. In total, the grill offers a cooking surface of 370 square inches and an additional 175 square inches on the secondary cooking area. Most of the grill is made using stainless steel. Even the side panels are made out of metal instead of plastic which means it was designed to withstand intense usage.
The model is fairly easy to assemble which is a major plus. If we were to look at the biggest flaw of the model is the fact that its side panels cannot be folded. This means that it will not be all that easy to find a place for it.
1. BEST-SELLER: Char-Broil Classic 4-Burner Gas Grill with Side Burner
Char-Broil Classic 4-Burner gas grill is by far the most popular product in our list. It has a premium construction and a surprisingly modest price tag. The grill has a total cooking surface of 480 square inches which also makes it quite large. Additionally, one of the side panel as another 180 square inches for secondary cooking. Beneath the burners, the model has a few shelves for storage, and as expected it has an electronic ignition system. Last but not least, the build quality of the grill makes it look and feel premium with its stainless steel panels and the matte black finish for the bottom side that holds the shelves.
Looking at some of the things that people would complain about, the main thing that comes to mind is that it is quite big and the side panels are not collapsible. This should be expected as it has that extra side burner.
Things To Keep In Mind
Due to the large selection of models available, it is possible to find for the same money, grills with small and very large cooking surfaces. It is important not to go for the biggest grill that the budget allows for. If the grill is too big, finding a place for it might prove to be difficult. If it is too small, it might not be enough to cook for a large group of people. It is important to look at various models with a realistic estimation of how big would be enough.
Also, it seems that most gas grills have a common issue with how easy they are assembled. As they come disassembled and it is up to the user to put it together, some models will prove to be a bit more challenging. This is not much of a con since assemble should be a one-time thing.
